In June, our Strategic Relationship Director, Tim Smith, will be cycling 350 miles as part of the Bike Battlefield Bike Ride to the Somme raising much needed funds for Help for Heroes.
Tim originally signed up for the event in 2020 when the destination was Dunkirk so that he could honour the memory of his grandfather, Frank, who in 1940 tied his boots around his neck and swam 800m out to seas to a waiting destroyer. Covid put a stop to the event until this year and despite the change in destination, Tim is still riding in memory of Frank and the courage and resilience he showed that day.
The same courage and resilience is displayed every day by the people serving to protect our nation and even more so by those wounded in the service of this country who continue to deserve our thanks and support.
